Vera Purdy Williamson, 87, of Amarillo died Saturday, July 26, 2008.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St.

Vera Williamson was born July 19, 1921, in Corsicana, where she was raised. She met Harvey Williamson in Corsicana, where they were married on April 19, 1940. They resided in the Panhandle, mainly in Amarillo, until retirement, when they moved to Lake Palestine in the Piney Woods of East Texas. They would travel to see their family, which was the enjoyment of their lives. Vera also loved her garden of roses and her ducks by the pond.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Williamson, in 1994.

Survivors include three children, Janet Hicks of Enid, Okla., Diann Sloan of Chandler and Gary Williamson of Arlington; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
