Steven N. "Nate" Bryan, 57, of 91 Broad St., Montgomery, died at his home on Saturday, October 27, 2007.

He was born in Muncy Creek Twp., PA, on March 4, 1950, the son of Ira T. and Evelyn I. (McCarty) Bryan.

He was a 1968 graduate of Hughesville High School where he played football and wrestled. He then enlisted in the US Navy, where he served aboard the USS Saratoga in the South Pacific during the Vietnam War. He was the past Commander of the American Legion Post # 251, Montgomery and was a member of Post VFW # 3428, Muncy. He was a millwright, a member of the Picture Rocks Baptist Church, the Roaring Run Rod and Gun Club, and enjoyed the outdoors and watching all sporting events.

He is survived by his parents, Ira and Evelyn Bryan, who reside in Picture Rocks, his wife, the former Cynthia A. Christman, with whom he resided, three sons; Ira Bryan of Scranton, Benjamin Bryan and Zachary Bryan, both of Montgomery, two sisters; Jan E. Bryan-Davis (Chris) of Bloomsburg, Judith A. Stiger of Hughesville, one granddaughter and 3 nephews.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday 2 p.m., at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 East Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Charles Mercer, his pastor, and the Rev. Robert Berger, Pastor Emeritus of the Hughesville Baptist Church, both officiating. Interment will be held in the Picture Rocks Cemetery, where military graveside honors will be accorded by combined veteran's organizations. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made to charity of your choice.
