Benoni was the son of Prime Thornton Coleman, Jr. and Anna Sariah Tenney.

He married Naomi Edith Habecker April 5, 1922. They divorced.

They had three children together:

Benoni Coleman (1925 - 19225)
Bruce Coleman (1926 - 2003)
Janice Lea Coleman (1927 - )

Former Casa Grande Man Dies Under Surgeons' Knife

Ben Coleman, former resident of Casa Grande and operator of the Templeton swimming pool died in Safford, September 1st while undergoing an operation for acute appendicitis. According to the hospital report, the operation was apparently successful when the patient, weakened by several days illness, succumbed to the shock. Burial was in the Safford cemetery, September 2nd.

The deceased was about 35 years old, and is survived by a wife and two children. The family whose home is in Thatcher, was visiting Mrs. Coleman's mother in Safford at the time of the operation and death.

Mr. Coleman was a world war veteran having been overseas with the 158th infantry of which he was a first sergeant in company G.
