DEATH CLAIMS W. M. PHILLIPS

Wendell M. Phillips, 902 Second Street, a resident of Clarkston since 1925, died at 9:30 yesterday morning at White's Hospital in Lewiston. He had been ill since early in the summer and was a patient in the hospital since Nov. 4.

Mr. Phillips was born Dec. 19, 1891, in Marinette, Wis. At 13 years of age, he came to Spokane and learned the barber trade at 16. Later he returned to the middle west.

He married Miss June Stout at Golva, N.D. in 1919. They came to Spokane in 1922, moving to Clarkston in 1925. Mr. Phillips followed his trade as a barber in Lewiston and Clarkston since that time. He was the owner of a barbershop at 819 1/2 Main Street, Lewiston.

Mr. Phillips was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. June Phillips, and by four sons and one daughter; George, Donald and Ivan Phillips of Clarkston, and Mrs. June Burke, also t home; and PFC Ray Phillips, now stationed in Louisiana.

Mr. Phillips's mother, Mrs. Agnes Phillips, and two brothers, Earl and Claude Philips reside in Clarkston, and another brother, George is in California.
