She was born March 7, 1917, at East Helena, Mont., to Mike and Emma Fuchs, one of 12 children. The family moved to Tekoa, Wash., where she attended school.
Dorothy married Alex Fuchs of Uniontown on April 28, 1936. They moved to Clarkston in 1940. She was employed later at the Manhattan Cafe, the Kopper Kettle Cafe and R.G. Bailey Printing Co.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Ann's Guild and the Women of the Moose, where she held many offices. She played in the Musical Moosettes Kitchen Band that entertained at area nursing homes. Her hobbies were gardening, sewing, crafts and bowling.
Her husband passed away July 9, 1983.
She is survived by a son, John Fuchs of Clarkston; three daughters, Rose Marie Lenz of Lewiston, Dorothy Larson of Clarkston and Rita Poach of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five sisters, Marie Bippes of Spokane, Helen Olson of Coeur d'Alene, Gen Ames of Spokane, Pauline Cole of Moscow and Rita Moore of Sacramento, Calif.; brothers, Neil Fuchs and Ted Fuchs, both of Tekoa, Edward Fuchs of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Leo Fuchs of Worley, Idaho; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Merriman of Tekoa.
The rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7 at Merchant Funeral Home in Clarkston. The funeral Mass is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Vineland Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Lupus Support Group, of which she was a member.
