He was born March 13, 1943, to Arthur Bolen and Dorothy V. (Jenkins) Bolen in Orofino. He attended Lapwai High School and graduated in 1962; he also attended the Lewis-Clark Normal School for two years.
He married Carol Ann Appleford in 1965 in Coeur d'Alene.
Upon graduating from high school in 1962 he began work at Potlatch Corporation working in the lumber division and in the tissue mill until 1968.
He then worked for Holsum Baking Company and later was a wine and beer salesman for Gail Fouts Distributing, which later became Wilson Distributing for a total of 18 years.
He then sold cars for Tony Copeland Ford for approximately two years before returning to Potlatch Corporation in 1989 until his retirement in April of 2006. He resided in the Lewis-Clark Valley all of his life.
He joined the Idaho National Guard in 1964 and was stationed in Fort Ord, Calif., and was honorably discharged in 1970.
He was a devoted member of the Teamsters Union for 18 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for 10 years. He was a member of the Woodworkers Union and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union AFL-CIO during his sixteen and a half years at Potlatch Corporation.
He was a devoted patriot to his country and a member of the Democratic Party all of his life.
Eldon enjoyed his family, friends, a good game of poker, camping, fishing, and hunting.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Carol Bolen; a son, Kevin Bolen; and a daughter, Melissa, and husband Karst Riggers, all of Clarkston; a grandson, Hogan Riggers; and a brother Warren Bolen, both of Lewiston.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
