Curtis James Armstrong, age 85, of Ephraim passed away March 16, 1991 in Fresno, California.

Curtis was born in Ephraim, Utah, January 19, 1906 to John and Hilda Christensen Armstrong. He has lived his entire life in Ephraim. He was a very successful farmer, livestock man and rancher. He was an active member in community and civic affairs.

He was an active member of the Utah Woolgrowers Association; a director for many years in Producers Livestock Company. He has been director and chairman of the Ephraim Power Board and was president of the John Armstrong Livestock Corporation for many years. He was most generous with his work and contributions in all of these endeavors.

He served as director of the director of the Bank of Ephraim for 35 years and as Bank president for 13 years. He was one of the founding directors of the Utah Independent Bank ofSalina and served as director for 14 years.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He fulfilled a mission in the Eastern Canadian Mission. He served as counselor on two bishoprics, ward and stake Sunday School presidencies and many other church callings.

He married Melba Hotter, July 23, 1930 in the Manti LDS Temple.

Survived by four children: William (Bill) Armstrong, deceased; Mrs. Jay (Kathryn) Christensen, Fresno, Calif.; Mrs. William (Marjorie) Stringham, Bountiful; March C. and wife Corynne, Ephraim; 12 grandchildren and three grandchildren; sister, Lucile 0. Sorensen, Ephraim.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 21, in the Ephraim Stake Center.
