Bill was born and raised in Glendale, Utah. He served a Northern States Mission. After returning home, he started college in Cedar City and was drafted into the army for a two-year tour of duty.
Bill has always been a cowboy and spent his life ranching cattle. He worked on the Kaibab driving a logging truck. He loved spending time with his family and his cattle on the Arizona Strip.
Surviving family include his wife, Shirley, of 51 years, and their five children, Tina (Jeff) Esplin of St. George, Kellee (Robert) Baird of St. George, Kyron (Mary Ann) Brinkerhoff of Glendale, John (Sonia) Brinkerhoff of Glendale and Adrianne (Lane) Roundy of St. George, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Bernice Malan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, Maurine Mackelprang, Lillith Pugh, Thelma Lamb, LeGrand Brinkerhoff, Don Brinkerhoff, Silas Brinkerhoff, Ella McArthur, Elizabeth Esplin, Verla Iverson, Max Brinkerhoff, Mary Lou Hafen and Richard Mardell Brinkerhoff and daughter-in-law Sonia (Bogenhagen)Brinkerhoff (1968-2004).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS chapel in Glendale, Utah. Friends and family may attend the viewing on Friday, from 7:00-800 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, and on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 at the Chapel in Glendale. Interment will be in the Glendale Cemetery with Military Honors.
