Glendale-Funeral services were held in the Glendale, Ward Chapel Monday, April 12, for Alonzo Riley Brinkerhoff, 55 who died at his home here Friday, April 9, at 5:15 p.m. from kidney complications. Mr. Brinkerhoff was born April 6, 1888, son of Silas and Elizabeth Sophia Harris Brinkerhoff, who have both proceded him in death. He married Louisa Anderson Feb. 20, 1907 and received their endowments in the Manti Temple Oct 15, 1917. He served eight years as a board member of the Kane county school district, and served four years as a member of the Glendale town board. He was a very sucessful business man, owner of a sheep business and has operated in Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Utah. He was a High Priest in the LDS church and contributed liberally to the same. He sent four missionaries on 2-year missions and now has a daughter serving a 2-year stake mission. Speakers at the funeral services were Marcellus Johnson, of Glendale, Fred G.Carroll of Orderville, David A. Smith of Glendale and President Charles C. Heaton of Moccasin, with a tribute by Mrs. Fay Alvey of Escalante and sentiments by Mrs. Carlos Judd of Kanab. Interment was in the Glendale cemetery and Charles C. Anderson dedicated the grave. Besides his widow, he is survived by two sisters Mrs. George Smith of Cedar City and Mrs. Edgar C Jones of Vernal; two brothers, Warren Brinkerhoff of Lovell, Wyo., and Merlin Brinkerhoff of Glendale; six sons and eight daughters, Legrande, Donald, Vaughn, Swain Max, William B, and Richard Mardell Brinkerhoff, Maurine Macklsprang, Lillith Pugh, Ella McArthur, Elizabeth Brinkerhoff, Verla Brinkerhoff, Mary Lou Brinkerhoff, Thelma Lamb, and Bernice B. Malan.
