She married Arthur Hanson in October 1926 and moved to Chicago, Ill. They returned to Minnesota during the next eight years.
Arthur Hanson died in 1953, and Gladys married Henry J. Barrett in 1971.
She is survived by two children, Rita M. Prose of Chicago City, and Roger L. Hanson of Saginaw, Mich.; two sisters, Audre Poshek and Mary Poshek of Stillwater; three brothers, Robert Duncan of Marine-on-St. Croix, Russell Duncan of Browersville, Lewis Duncan of Stillwater.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Buelah and Annabelle, and by one brother, Howard.
Gladys taught school 22 years; most as a junior high school math teacher in Osceola, Wis.
She served as secretary at the First United Methodist Church for three years, a Bible school teacher and leader. She was also chairman of Home Delivered Meals since 1977.
She has lived in Chicago City for the past 30 years and been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lindstrom for 30 years. She died Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Chisago Lakes Hospital.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Lindstrom with interment at the Methodist Cemetery in Center City.
