Death Of A Pioneer at the Age of 18 (sic) Years - Funeral Today.
__Elias H. Bowen died, Saturday afternoon at his home, No. 423 C avenue, after an illness of four days, at the age of 81 years. He had been in failing health for some time, death being due to old age. The funeral was held from the residence at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon: interment in Linwood cemetery.
__The deceased was born in Columbus, Ohio, Feb. 6, 1819. He had lived in Iowa since 1852, being one of the pioneer resident of the state. For the past eight years he had been a resident of Cedar Rapids.
__He is survived by his wife and ten children. they are: David Bowen of Wilbur, Neb.; W. H. Bowen of Vinton, Frank, Berry and Walter Bowen and Miss Lilly Bowen of Cedar Rapids, Misses Carlina and Jane Bowen of Colorado, Mrs. May Dodd of Toledo, and Mrs. M. R. Hobart of Fullerton, Illinois.
