OBITUARY: Elmer H. Shoop

Elmer H. Shoop, 82, of Wayne Township, died in the Harrisburg Hospital Friday.

Mr. Shoop was a son of James W. and Sarah (Hoy) Shoop and was born at Valley View, Schuylkill County, June 26, 1878. He was a member of Union Evangelical United Brethren Church, Halifax R.D. 2, and has been a resident of the Powls Valley community sixty years.

His wife, the former Vada M. Saltzer, preceded him in death.

Survivors are six sons, Charles E., Mark C., Wayne R., and Lee R. Shoop, all of Halifax R.D. 2; James W. Shoop, Halifax R.D. 1, and Kenneth S. Shoop, of Halifax; five daughters, Mrs. Harry Keiter and Mrs. Donald Miller, both of Halifax R. D. 2; Mrs. Cleon Rowe of Halifax R. D. 1; Mrs. Edward Weiss of Halifax, and Miss Sarah Shoop of Elysburg, Pa; forty-six grandchildren, sixty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Services were held from the Union Evangelical United Brethren Church at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Floyd Tice officated and interment was made in the church cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Buffington Funeral Home, Elizabethville.
