Gertrude Foster, 90, of Fulton, SD died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Dexter Care Center in Dexter, KS.

She was born May 16, 1917 to Harry and Molena (Olson) Black in Hanson County, South Dakota. After attending Plano School for twelve years she graduated in 1935. She received her teacher's certificate from Notre Dame Academy and taught school in Miner County.

On June 1, 1941 she married Gordon Foster. They farmed their entire lives in the Fulton community.

She is survived by her children, Eulyla Foster of Fulton; Welby (Sharon) Foster of Parma, MI; Marlene (David) Helsel of Dexter, KS and Arlen (Cindy) Foster of Fulton; her grandchildren, Dawn (Ryan) Berkaw of Marietta, GA; Gina (Brian) Frederick of Jackson, MI; Beth (Justin) Joramo of Mitchell; Greg (Monica) Helsel and Heather Helsel of Olathe, KS; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Joramo, Ashley Joramo, Caleb Joramo and Grayson Helsel, three brothers, Lyle (Norma Jean) Black of Urbandale, IA; Kermit Black of Mitchell; Glenn (Delores) Black of Sioux Falls; two sisters-in-law, Lois Black and Rosalie Black of California and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, two brothers, Howard and Dean Black and a sister-in-law, Delores Black.

Funeral services will be at the Harvest Community Church of the Nazarene in Mitchell. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Fulton, SD.
