He also played and recorded for artists Paul Simon, Chaka Khan, Sting, James Brown, Billy Joel, Barbra Streisand, Eric Clapton and Al Green. As a solo artist, his albums included "World of Collision", "From All Sides", "Carrasco", "Late Night Talk", "Color Me", Try Livin' It" and "Too Funky 2 Ignore". He died of cancer.
