age 73 of Cherryville, N.C., died Monday, March 13, 2001 at Carolinas Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Cherryville, N.C. with Rev. Wayne Key and Rev. Kenneth Gibson officiating. The burial will be at City Memorial Cemetery, Cherryville, N.C. Visitation is 7:00-8:30 PM Wednesday at Carpenter's Funeral Home.
Mr. Beam was born in Lincoln County, N.C.; son of the late Ambrose Cline Beam, Sr. and Maude Black Beam. He was a retired Business Agent for Teamsters Local 61. He also worked as Long Line Driver for Carolina Freight Carrier for 25 years. Mr. Beam was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Hugh Helms Sunday School Class; America Legion Post 100, Cherryville; Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505 AF&AM; and Scottish Rite Bodies, Charlotte, NC.
He is survived by his wife, Florine McGinnis Beam of the home; sons & spouses, Gary and Debbie Beam of Denver, NC, Wade and Pam Beam of Savannah, GA, Todd and Angie Beam of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Hillard Lee Beam of Cherryville; sisters, Mrs. Joan Fortenberry of Cherryville, NC, Mrs. Margie Sellers of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Chance Beam, Garrett Beam, Farell Beam, Taylor Beam, Cline Beam, Paige Harris and Lex Harris.
