Died before November 3, 1869, when her name fails to be shown with her children's names, on a deed . (Family History Library microfilm # 956549, Burleson Co. Deeds, Vol. J, p. 370-371, 3rd Nov 1869. Berry Bownds, Andrew F. Bounds, Morgan Bounds, John Bounds (jr), Jane Ponton and husband J. P. Ponton, Mary Ann Offield and her husband J. P. Offield of same place, above being children (Berry, Andrew F., Morgan, John, Jan and Mary Ann) and heirs at law of Mrs. Mary Bounds deceased, late wife of John Bounds Senior, for $500 pd by F. M. Mundine 134 1/2 acres, pt of the Bingham 1/3 League conveyed to F. M. Mundine by sd John Bounds Sr., by deed 10 Aug 1869. filed Sept 3, 1870 & Recorded Sept 6, 1870.)
I believe she probably died in her home in Burleson County, Texas, in the part that would become Lee County by 1874. Mesquite Cemetery, where she and her husband and many descendants are buried is in Lee County, Texas. Vanessa Smith, descendant of their son, William C. Bownds.
