Funeral services for Other Page Cannon, age 70, were held at Calvary Baptist Church, with burial at Woody cemetery Friday, October 20 at 10 a.m. Mr Cannon died at the family home in the Woody community on Tuesday, October 17 after many weeks illness. R H Taylor was the officiating minister.
A native of Robinson county, Mr Cannon had made his home here for the past 22 years. He was a farmer and member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, Margaret Smith Cannon, 7 children survive: 4 daughters, Mrs Elbert Bilbrey, Mrs Frank Bailey, Mrs Ulysses Polson and Miss Louise Cannon, all of whom reside in this county; 3 sons, John and Milford of this county; Luther, Jackson; 18 grandchildren.
His son, PFC Jack Cannon, made the supreme sacrifice in World War II, dying as a result of wounds suffered in action in France on January 5, 1945. HIs remains were returned here for burial at Woody.
