Raymond grew up and lived in Lindenhurst
until he enlisted in the Marines 29 July 1964,
at a New York Recruiting Office.
Upon arriving in Vietnam he was assigned to
H & S Company,3rd Battalion,9th Marine
Regiment,3rd Marine Division.The company
was participating in Operation Macon when
they were ambushed by hostile forces,at My
Loc(2),3 kilometers south southwest of the
Liberty Bridge.Raymond died of hostile rifle
gunshot wounds to both legs during the ambush.
Tour of duty unknown.
Survived by his parents;Walter J & Marie
Widmann of 9 Vermont St,Lindenhurst, New York.
