Alvin Brown, 62, died Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield, AL. He was born September 13, 1955 in Gary, IN. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Sheffield, AL and enjoyed special Olympic bowling and square dancing. Alvin was a big ray of sunshine and had a huge smile and loved hugs.
Services will be Saturday, January 20, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL. Burial will be Joel Cemetery, Dennis, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his twin brother – Calvin Brown, Red Bay, AL, brother – Frank Brown, Florence, AL; brother-in-law – Carl "Rusty" Young; three nieces – Michelle Grant (Tommy) Muscle Shoals, AL, Stacy Garrett, Michie, TN and Barbara Dupree, Corinth, MS; two nephews – Michael Young, Florence, AL and Robert Garrett, Red Bay, AL; several great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Brown and Irene Stone Brown and two sisters, Susan Young and Flora Garrett.
