Peter G. Barna, 59, of Kingston, died Wednesday afternoon at the inpatient unit of Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Peter J. and Marcella C. (Toole) Barna.
He was a graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1967, and was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1968 to 1970. In 1980, Peter again served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving until 1988.
He was employed for Nabisco as a machinist until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Barna.
Surviving are his sisters, Patricia Spagnuolo, Kingston, Theresa Saxon and her husband, Gerald, Larksville; nieces Carisa Pinnacoli and Alena Spagnuolo.
Funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 South Main Street, Plains, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church, Kingston. Internment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
