Mrs. Huffman moved to Heard County, GA, around 1917, and graduated from Heard County High School. She retired in 1979 from Monsour's Department Store in Newman, GA, and retired to New Ellenton to be near her daughters. She had been the oldest living member of the Foreman Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Gaynell & Alford Wright, New Ellenton, Linda & Don Summer, Aiken, & Brenda & Paul Davis, Fernandina Beach, FL; grandchildren, Mike, Corey & Rick Staver, and Don, Eric & Kathy Baker, and Laura & Cindy Wright, and Brandi James; sisters and brother, Nina Folds, Irene Lane, Mary Turner, Myrtle Wilbur, & Paul Newman; all of Newman, GA area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil L. Huffman, who died in December 1973 (b. Aug. 12, 1917); her parents, Roger Newman & Lucy Smith Newman; two sisters, and two brothers. Interment followed funeral services conducted Wednesday, September 19, 2007.
