Mr. Howell, a driver with Carolina Freight Carriers, was a native of Jackson County, son of the late Jerry and Isabelle Lominack Howell. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret Wood Howell; daughter, Mrs. Lee Krantz of Norcross, Ga.; brother, Fred Howell of Candler; sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Smith, Mrs. Ruth Stevenson, both of Pennsville, N.J, Mrs. Carrie Lou Fravell of Drumore, Pa., Mrs. Pearl James of Waynesville; two grandchildren.
