He was baptised April, 4, 1641 in Milford. The Birdsey family moved to Stratford, Fairfield, CT. around 1645/1649.
The son of DEACON JOHN and PHILIPA (SMITH) BIRDSEYE, he married PHEBE WILCOXSON on Dec. 11, 1669 in Stratford, Conn.
On Oct. 8 1668, John Birdseye Sr. & John Birdseye, Jr. were made freemen of Stratford. John Jr. was part of a committee to hire carpenters & workmen to build the new meeting house in Stratford.
He died January 9, 1697/8 aged 55 years. His will was dated May 20, 1693.
Their son, JOSEPH BIRDSEYE, was my ancestor.
Other children: Sarah Birdseye (b. & d. 1670), Hannah (Birdseye) Beach, Mary Birdseye, Sarah Birdseye, Lt. Abel Birdseye, Elizabeth Birdseye, and Dinah Birdseye Beach.
