Graveside memorial services for Woodrow George, 92, will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Dan Patman officiating.
Born on March 20, 1913, in Crandall, Texas, to Stephen A. and Stella Mae Alstott George, he died on April 11, 2005, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Austin George.; and a sister, Doris George Linton.

Mr. George had been a resident of this area most of his life.

Upon his graduation from the University of Oklahoma's Law School in 1942, he was awarded the Order of the COIF. Mr. George served the State of Oklahoma with distinction as secretary of the Oklahoma Land Commission and was Superior Court Judge and District Judge of the 12th District Court. He retired his judgeship in 1987. Mr. George served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as provost judge and he acted as the chief of police in Song-do. He and Kenna K. Gilliam were married on June 15, 1992, in Gainesville, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Stephanie George Erdman, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Stephen A. George Jr., Oklahoma City; a granddaughter, Kelly Kerr, Dunedin, Fla.; a great-granddaughter, Kathryn Kerr, Dunedin; stepdaughters Melinda K. Wyeth, Castro Valley, Calif., and Kenna K. Orlandi, Ardmore; a stepson, John James, Ardmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary bearers are Charles Tate, Jim George and James George.

Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
