In 1852, on September 23, this daughter of Orson and Nancy Marinda Johnson Hyde entered the Salt Lake Valley. She was born in Kirtland, Ohio, May 30, 1837, knew the Prophet Joseph Smith intimately, and at the age of six had read the entire Book of Mormon. She left Nauvoo, Illinois, in 1846, with the historic mass migration, spent the intervening time with her people at Winter Quarters. In the Valley she opened a school in her father's home on North Temple and West Temple. At the age of nineteen, she married Aurelius Miner, on May 30, 1856, and became the mother of nine children. She was a member of the General Board of the Relief Society. She died on August 10, 1909.
