Aged Resident Dies.
Mrs. Henry Lammis passes away at home and Eddyville.
Was native of Greubech, Holland.

Two children, Edward Lammis and Mrs. H.B. Barnes resided in Ottumwa. Funeral will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church Wednesday.

Eddyville, February 2 - at 2 PM Sunday, February 1, 1903 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Burch, corner fourth and Mill streets, occurred the death of Mrs. Henry Lammis, aged 67 years, 10 months and five days. Mrs. Lammis was born in Greubech, Holland, March 26, 1835. She came to this country with her parents when 12 years of age, locating at Eddyville. She has resided here continuously since. She was married May 1, 1852, to Henry Lammis, of this place. To them were born 12 children, three of whom have passed away, two dying in infancy. The nine living children or five sons and four daughters, as follows:
Stephen, south of town; Andrew, of Dudley; Edward, of South Ottumwa; H.B., of Cedar Falls; A.J. Of Parker, South Dakota; Mrs. H.B. Burns, of Ottumwa; Mrs. Lizzie W. Burch, of this place; Mrs. Theo Burks, of Clyde, Missouri, and Mrs. B.W. Smith, south of town. She and her husband, who still lives, resided for 42 years on a farm south of town. In March, 1901 they moved to town. On the first of last May they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Death was due to a complication of diseases from which she had been suffering for about a month. She was one of six sisters, the only real meaning one being Mrs. Harman Tennyson, of third Street. The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning from St. Mary's Catholic Church, of which she was a devout member. It is not known just who will have charge of the services - either Rev. father Dollard, of What Cheer or Rev. father of Waldron of Oskaloosa. The burial will be made in the family lot in the Catholic cemetery. All the children are expected except the son from Dakota. The members of this family are well-known and highly esteemed throughout this section, and they have many friends who extend heartfelt sympathy.
