Jeff was a twin. He was slender, good looking, had a good head of hair all his life, patient, quiet, mild mannered, slow of speech & slow to react, he held definite standards and definite opinions. He often read the Bible & discussed it with his wife. He was born in a log cabin & raised on a farm. He had very little schooling. He was hardly ever sick. He enjoyed studying history & current events and was a lifelong Democrat, breaking his voting record just once to help elect Eisenhower. For 16 years he was a "log scaler", a bookkeeper who would measure the piles of logs brought into the railway station & would keep account of tallies for paying the loggers. He measured by eye and added long columns in his head & never made an error. In California he became custodian of the LDS Wilshire Ward's building for many years. Father of 6 including Baby, Glenn Clark Lester.
