Elisha Gurney came down from Camp 24 Monday and left the same evening for Jamestown to spend a few days with his son, William Gurney.

Boniface at Sugar Pine for Many Years and Resident Since '61 Buried Today
Sonora Office Stockton Record, Dec 18 - Elisha Gurney, a resident of the county since the year 1861, passed away Monday morning in Tuolumne at the age of 78 years.
The deceased came to Tuolumne county from Maine, his native state. For a long time up to about twenty years ago, he conducted a hotel at Sugar Pine, which in those days of horse-drawn was a favorite stopping place for tourists, campers and teamsters. Prior to that time he was for a number of years in the employ of the late S S Bradford as teamster, hauling lumber with ten, twelve and fourteen horse teams from the mountains to Sonora.
Five sons and two daughters survive him. They are Ed Gurney of Jamestown, William Gurney of Jamestown, James Gurney if Valley Springs, Lou and Marion Gurney of Tuolumne, Mrs W J Hanlon of Tuolumne and Mrs C P Herst of San Francisco.
The funeral was held today, internment being in the IOOf cemetery in Sonora.
