Steven Lee DAVIDSON …at age 23 stabbed(seven times) & strangled his 64 year old grandmother(Laura M. NUENKIRK-BRINKMAN) on Monday afternoon 23FEB1981 at her home at 821 W. Fourth Ave. in Cedar Falls IA where he had also been living.

Steve had just returned from buying groceries for his grandmother. He was upset with her for getting on him about doing chores and eating her food. He told police that he had been released from the State Mental Hospital(Knoxville) and that he feared she was going to do harm to him by sending him back.

The judge refused to accept a plea of diminished capacity and found him guilty and sentenced him to life in prison at Ft. Madison IA State Prison.

Children included: Loretta Marie Towsley, Edward Pittman, Robert Pittman
