BOWMAN, SC - Marlene Hart Dukes, 78, of Bowman, widow of Dr. Philip Duskin Dukes, PhD, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Duncan Chapel United Methodist Church with the Reverend Robert E. Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Claude Hart, Cody Smith, Richard Hart, Kevin Hart, Jack Hart, Ronnie Summers, Gene Dukes, Jr., and Sandy Dukes.

Sissy was born February 5, 1935 in Duncan Chapel Community of Dorchester County a daughter of the late, William Pinckney Hart, Jr. and Catherine Sidell Kizer Hart. She was a graduate of St. George High school and was a talented seamstress who did custom draperies and she operated The Country Store for a number of years. She was an active member of Duncan Chapel United Methodist Church. An accomplished golfer she was a former member of St. George Country Club and was an avid Gardner.

She was predeceased by siblings: Joseph Glenn Hart, Richard Eugene Hart, William Robert Hart, Jack "Pete" Hart and Helen H. Kizer.

Surviving is her son; Philip D. "Phil" Dukes, Bowman and her daughter; Marla Dukes Repik, Charleston; grandchildren; Robert Henry Dukes, Lillian Taylor Dukes and Suzanne Marie Repik; a sister, Billie Marie Hart.
