Viola D. Turner, 80, of Hanover, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover.

She was born June 23, 1928, in Hanover, the daughter of Newton and Lottie Nighbert Adams. She worked at the Charlestown Munitions Facility and as a supervisor of the Southwestern School cafeteria. She enjoyed operating a 100-acre farm with her husband. They also operated a furniture restoration business for 25 years. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, walking and gardening.

She was preceded in death by one son, Larry Turner; her parents; and three brothers, Floyd, Luther and Albert Adams.

The funeral was at Vail-Holt Funeral Homes Hanover Chapel. Burial was in New Prospect Cemetery.
