Floyd T. Adams, 82, of 6189 W. County Road 750 N., Dupont, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was born Oct. 21, 1921, in Jefferson County, the son of Newton T. and Lottie Nighbert Adams. He worked in the machine shop at Kingston Co. in Kokomo before moving to Dupont in 1955, where he farmed until retirement. He was a member of Clifty Creek Coon Hunters Club.
Surviving are his wife, Inez F. Adams of Dupont; three daughters, Karen Bertrand of Sellersburg, Nancy Abbot of Dupont and Kathy Clark of Canaan; one son, John C. Adams of Underwood; four sisters, Louella Kessler, Evelyn Handlon and Viola Turner of Hanover; and Waunita Weber of Lexington; four brothers, Robert, Willard and Melvin Adams of Hanover and Clifford Adams of Sellersburg; one uncle; several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 16 great-step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Elbert Adams (in infancy), Albert Adams (1989), and Luther Adams (1991); three brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Vail-Holt Funeral Home Hanover Chapel, with burial in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Davita Dialysis Center of Madison. Cards will be available at the funeral home.
