Roger D. Pennington, age 70, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2008. Roger retired from U.S. Steel in 1990, and was active in Local Union #1066 and loved the Chicago Cubs. Roger is survived by his wife, Barbara Pennington of Portage; 1 daughter, Lisa (Paul) Crum of Portage; 1 brother, Bruce (Carol) Pennington of Hobart; 3 grandchildren: Lindy Crum, John Mosier & Christine Pennington; 3 stepsons, Steve (Jane) Williams of North Judson, Mike (Arlene) Williams of Winamac, IN, and Jeff Williams of Portage; 6 step grandchildren: Ryan, Steven, Branden, Jeffrey, Joshua and Jessica; and many loving nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his son, Christopher D. Pennington, brother, John Pennington; and sister, Nell Francis Kimmell. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2008, 11:00 a.m. from the Kraft Funeral Services and Crematory, 370 N. County Line Road, Hobart, with Pastor Mark Hostetler officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Please call (219) 942-9866.
