E. Loraine Keough, 82, died on Saturday (2/22/2003) at Massena Memorial Hospital.
She was born on June 1, 1920 in Massena, daughter of Ira and Ella Willis Barnes. She graduated from Massena High School and Canton Agricultural and Technical Institute.
She married John J. Keough on Dec. 26, 1950, at her home in Raquette River. He died on Aug. 8, 1996.
She was a dietician at Massena Memorial Hospital. She had also worked in Amsterdam and Watertown previously.
She attended Grace United Methodist Church and was a benevolent treasurer there for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Cretona Chapter 516, Grace United Methodist Women's Club and Massena Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She won the Methodist Laity Award in 2001, worked on the election board for many years, volunteered at Highland and St. Regis Nursing Homes, and collected Campbell's Soup labels which she donated to Red Bird Missions, Kentucky. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, playing cards and working puzzles.
Surviving was a daughter and her husband, Janis and Wayne Williams, Lawrenceville, GA.
Two brothers, Willis and Lyle Barnes, died before her.
