• He is survived by his wife, two children, Marie Bridges and Merle May, both of Chariton. Also his aged father Thomas V. May and four grandchildren, Darwin Bridges of Chariton; Donald Bridges who is with the Marines in San Diego, CA. Connie and Karen May of Chariton; also one great-granddaughter Kathy Bridges and many other relatives and friends. His mother and one brother preceded him in death.
He was converted and joined the Oak Dale Methodist Church 37 years ago.
• Most of his life was spent on the farm in Monroe Co., east of Columbia, except 5.5 years when he lived in Columbia with his father.
• His life was an example of good citzenship and his personality was one that won friendship of all with whom he came in contact. He will be greatly missed in the community. Friends and neighbors mourn with the relatives his passing.
• Funeral services were held at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home, March 11, 1953. Funeral was conducted by Rev. B.H. Finch, assisted by Rev. Gene Gardiner.
