Tuesday, 21 August 1894
Mrs. William Payne died at her home on south Walnut street Sunday morning at 4 o'clock, of typhoid fever, after an illness of a little over a week. Mrs. Payne was 21 years of age and leaves a husband and a four months' old babe. She was a good neighbor and was loved and highly respected in the community. The funeral took place from the residence at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon and the services were in charge of Dr. J. E. Steele. The remains were interred in Rose Hill.
