Clarice Helen Sorensen 88 of Enumclaw died April 17, 2008. She was an area resident for 66 years. She was born November 23, 1919 in Goldendale, Washington to Artemis and Cora Mason. Helen was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, choir and bell choir for 66 years. She was also a member of the local chapter of P.E.O. She was raised in Bickleton, Washington, graduated from Bickleton High School in 1938 and attended Central WA College in Ellensburg where she earned a degree in music education. Helen taught elementary school in Enumclaw where she met Herb, who was driving a school bus at the time, they married in 1943. She and Herb loved sailing with friends and skied at Crystal Mountain from its inception. She was an avid reader. After her marriage Helen became a full time homemaker who raised three children. She is survived by son Mason Sorensen and his wife Joan of Wellsville, New York; daughters Jean Gronewald and her husband Ken of Enumclaw and Ane Sorensen of Puyallup; 8 grandchildren and 4 great–grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband Herbert V. Sorensen in 2003, grandson Aaron Sorensen and great granddaughter Rachel Anne Kneadler. Memorials may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1725 Porter St., Enumclaw, WA 98022 or Gideons International, P.O. Box 664, Auburn, WA 98071. A graveside service will be held Monday April 21 at Evergreen Memorial Park in Enumclaw at 10 am followed by a memorial service at Calvary Presbyterian Church at 2 pm. Pastor Fred Davis will officiate.
