Stella May Goates Sanders,96, a resident of Dover, died Wednesday,January 24, 2007,at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb 10, 1910 to John Andrew Goates and Nancy Owens Goates. She was a lifelong member of the Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer Odell Sanders; a son, John Claude Sanders; two brothers, five sisters,and four great-grandsons.
Survivors include two sons and daughers-in-laws, Elmer and Jane Sanders of Pottsville, Ronnie and Brenda Sanders of Dover; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jewell and Dean Underwood, Patsy and Raymond Chance of Pottsville, and Shirley Laymon of Russellville; a daughter-in-law, Marie Sanders of Lodi, Calif.; 25 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 35 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan 27, 2007 at the Calvery Temple Assembly of God Church in Russellville, officiated by the Reverand Bobby Judkins and Mr. Devoe Campbell. Burial will be in Goates Cemetery at Scottsville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service
Active pallbearers will be Gary Huffman, Clancie Laymon, Jimmy Dodson, Tony Laymon, Dennis Huffma, and Brad
