Abraham Lincoln Vant died at his home, 822 Oneida Street February 11, aged 74 years. He is survived by a sister, Miss Mattie Vant, with whom he resided and a brother Volkert V. Vant, Mount Pleasant. His death followed an illness of but four days.

The deceased was born in Illinois on November 6, 1860, the day Lincoln was elected to his first term as president and he was named after that great American.

He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Vant. With the family he moved from Chicago more than half a century ago and settled near Mount Pleasant. For many years he operated a farm in Volney but had retired five or six years ago.
