ROCKLAND, Oct. 3 - William Benner, 81, formerly of Rockland, died today at Orland. He was born July 20, 1876 at Bristol, teh son of Edward and Helen (Jones) Benner. Surviving are a half-sister, Mrs. David R. Davis of Orland, two half-brothers, George Fleming of Center Conway, N. H., and Thomas Fleming of Rockland; several nieces and nephews. He was a former member of the Knights of Pythias at Stonington. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock from teh Burpee funeral home here with the Rev. Merle S. Conant of teh Pratt Memorial Methodist church officiating. Interment will be in Achorn cemetery, Rockland.
