Dr. Tilden Dies Today
Dr. Julius Frederick Tilden, 66, passed away at 5:15AM today in his home 2523 Knapp Street. He had been ill for a year with a heart ailment.

Mr. Tilden was born August 6, 1880 in Ames. He attended Northwestern University in Evanston and the University of Iowa in Iowa City and received a DDS degree. He practiced dentistry in Ames from 1906 until 1919. He served as a First Lieutenant in the Dental Corps from 1917 to 1918 during World War I. From 1919 until 1941 he practiced at Charles City and then moved to Ames where he purchased the Candy Kettle at 2412 Lincoln Way.

He was Secretary of the Charles City Rotary Club for 14 years. Mr. Tilden was married to Florence Breneman in Ames in 1908. She survives with a sister, Mrs. Agnes Tilden Poole, also of Ames.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2PM in Adams Mortuary. Rev. W. Murray Allen, Pastor of the Congregational Church will be in charge. Burial will be in the Ames Cemetery.
