Mary Marie Blurton, 99, of Orient, Illinois formerly of Ingleside, Ramsey and St. Elmo, died 10:30 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008 at her home.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Kessel Funeral Home, St. Elmo. Visitation was two hours prior to the funeral. Burial was at Springhill Cemetery rural Beecher City. Memorials may be made to: Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. 305 South Illinois Street Belleville, IL. 62220
Mrs. Blurton was born January 5, 1909 in Loudon Township the daughter of Melvin and Emily (Mills) Tish. She married Louis "Jack" Blurton on December 26, 1929 in Vandalia and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1974.
She was a homemaker, cooked, farmed and enjoyed flowers. She was a former member of the Royal Neighbors and also a former election judge and juror.
She is survived by: daughters, Lois Elliott of Danville, Lola Jean Blurton of Killeen, Tx, Katherine Monk of Ingleside, and Erma Dananay of Orient; son, Delbert "Skeeb" Blurton of Brownstown; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Richard, sister, Bertha Blurton; brother, Preston Tish; two son-in-laws, one daughter-in-Law. ~~
