"HONEST" JOHN PEARSON, 88, entered into rest peacefully on July 10, 2008. He was the owner of Pearson's BP / Amoco conveneince stores for 58 years. He was a member of Audubon Park Baptist Chuch. He loved baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, Quarter horses and Trout fishing on the White River. He was a member of Sunset Hills and Frontier Saddle Clubs as well as an AQHA member. He served in the Army in Europe in WW II and was at the the Battle of Normandy. He then came to Memphis and began a joyous and wonderful life. John was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Jewell, of 61 years and three children, Mike Pearson, Gary Pearson, and Lisa Pearson Hollie (David). He leaves three grandchildren, Chad Pearson (Kelly), Colton Hollie and Caroline Hollie. He also leaves two Great Grandchildren, Riley Pearson and Macy Pearson. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 5668 Poplar Ave. Funeral services will be on Monday, July 14, at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park.
