OBITUARY
Mrs. John W. Ragsdale died Dec. 11, 1899. Mrs. Ragsdale was born Jan. 18, 1857. She professed religion at about 13 years of age and joined the C.P. Church at Mt. Zion, and was married to John W. Ragsdale Sept. 8. 1870.

In every position in life as wife, mother, friend and better than all, as a follower of the meek and lowly Jesus, she was not excelled. She only hated to give up this life on account of her children and loved ones that she had to leave behind, yet she often spoke to the writer that she had no fears of the hereafter. Her hopes were for her children and husband who are all members of the church except the youngest boy, but we believe her prayer for him will be answered. Then dear loved ones weep not as those who have no hope for you have the assurance that one day by and by you will meet wife and mother on the other bright shore where parting will be no more, where no farewell tears will ever be shed, and may He who watches over and cares for his children here ever watch over and care for the only daughter.

RAGSDALE--Cornelia Ragsdale nee Moore was born Jan. 18, 1851, professed religion when about 13 years old. Joined Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church, lived a devoted member, and she was an example of gentleness and meekness. Hers was a beautiful life. She fell asleep in Jesus December 11, 1899, to await the resurrection morn, when the dead in Christ shall come forth to meet him in the air. Blessed assurance that......Christ shall live..........
