Burial location unknown-I have put her findagrave.com memorial in Riverdale Cemetery in Clay County, KS to be with her father & brothers.
Sophia came to America with her father & step-mother August & Marianne Sauvain and her two brothers David "Sam" & Albert on the Bark Hahnemann in April 1852. Arriving in the Port of New York-moving to Fort Wayne, Allen Co., Indiana, then to Adams County, Indiana and settling in Paulding County, Ohio. She has half-siblings born in America: Lewis, John, Jule, Eva.
She married Francis DeChaux in March 1865 & lived in Paulding County, Ohio. Her Sauvain family moved to Clay County, Kansas. Two of her brothers (Lewis & Albert) return to Paulding County, Ohio.
Sophia's husband Francis DeChaux had children by a first wife Marie Rosalie Job-Winnow (she died 1863). Their children were: Nicholas, Mary Elizabeth, Francis Wm., & MaryRose. Sophia became step-mother to these children (although, MaryRose lived with her Job grandparents).
Sophia & Francis had children: Peter J., Mary, John E., Eugene E., & Clemens. Only Peter & Eugene lived.
I believe that the half-brothers were close as Nicholas, Peter & Eugene moved to Washington. Francis/Frank Wm. lived in Ohio.
One researcher has Sophia's death in Nebraska City, Nebraska in 1882 (unable to find records to confirm this)
