Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Golden Gate veterans cemetery, San Bruno, for Frank Coontz, 64, former Woodland man who died Thursday in his Stockton home. He was a victim of cancer of the lung.
Mr. Coontz formerly was head custodian at Dingle elememtary school for five years. His wife, Gertrude, who survives, worked at Woodland Laundry and Dry Cleaners for four years.
The Coontz' came here from Washington D.C., in 1946, after Mr. Coontz resigned from the Army Engineers police force. They moved from Woodland to Stockton a year ago. Mr. Coontz was a native of Kentucky.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Coontz leaves four daughters, Mrs. Bennie Sanders of Winters, Mrs. Robert Harvey of Indian Spring, Nev., Judy Lee and Jean Coontz of Stockton; three sons, Jimmy Coontz of Stockton, Bill Coontz of Travis Air Force Base and Franklin R. Coontz of Cook Air Force base near Lompoc.
