James G. Coontz, 70, of Quincy, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at the Quincy Valley Medical Center. He was born on May 14, 1937, to Frank and Gertrude (Haley) Coontz at Indianapolis, IN. He attended high school in Woodland, CA and was a member of the high school track team, setting many new track records. He graduated from high school in 1956. Jim was married in 1958 and to this union there were five children; he later married Donna Morgan in 1982, at Rathdrum, ID. Jim was employed for 22 years at L A Aluminum Casting in Hayden Lake, ID retiring in 1998. They moved to Quincy in 1999. Jim was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Quincy, Quincy Moose Lodge #1925 and the Hayden Lake Eagles #4080. He is survived by his wife, Donna Coontz of Quincy; children, Marilee Cutler of Coeur d' Alene, ID, Jim Coontz of Bell, TX, Bill Coontz of Hayden, ID, David Coontz of Coeur d' Alene, ID, Shane Coontz of Houser, ID, Jeff Morgan of Rathdrum, ID, John Morgan of Coeur d' Alene, ID and Buzzy Bouldin of Rathdrum, ID. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by two brothers; and five sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2007, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 716 3rd Ave. S.E., Quincy, WA. Officiating will be Pastor Virginia Johnson, concluding Services and Interment will follow in the Quincy Valley Cemetery.
