Born to Roy and Mildred Lorena Johnson Wadley; graduated Harrison High School; attended the University of Arkansas, where he was in Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, when he left to join the U.S. Navy during World War II and saw action in the Philippines and Borneo.

Bob and his father moved to Claremore where they opened Wadley's Shoe Store.

He was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1952 and in 1972 was elected to the State Senate, where he served until leaving in 1978 to become legislative liaison for Gov. George Nigh.

Wadley was appointed to the Oklahoma Tax Commission where he served until 1994.

He was a deacon, elder and Sunday School teacher at the Claremore First United Presbyterian Church; active in Claremore business and civic groups; served as president of the Lions Club and Junior Chamber of Commerce, named Jaycees Man of the Year and president of Claremore Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He was a past Claremore Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler and past Elks District Deputy and served as vice president of Oklahoma State Elks Association.
Wadley was a member of the Will Rogers Masonic Lodge, Akdar Shrine and Scottish Rite.

Survivors are his wife; two children; three step-children; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
