An unusual incident occurred yesterday John Arnett, 89, suffered a heart attack and died instantly at his home at in Roan Mountain, about 5:15 p.m. At 9:00 p.m. last night his wife Mrs. Arnett 88, died in Grace Hospital Banner Elk, N.C., where she has been a patient for approximately a month. Mrs. Arnett had not been told of her husband's death.

The couple natives of North Carolina, had lived in Roan Mountain, for a number of years. And both were members of St. John Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Arnett was on the board of Deacons. Douable funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Freewill Baptist Church.

They are survived by the following children, two daughters, Lena Markland and Gartie Lyons of Roan Mountain, four sons, George of Linville N.C., Ulus, Joe and Howard all of Roan Mountain.
