--Jeptha Wallis, one of the oldest settlers in Robberson Township died on the 13th inst.

He was the son of Mathew F. Wallis and Sarah "Sally" (Sneed) Wallis. He married Nancy Agnes Stephenson on January 18, 1821 in Iredell County, North Carolina. They migrated to Greene County in 1836, settling near Cave Spring.
